There is an endless amount of terrain out there to choose from simple to challenging, the key is to make an informed decision of where to go, which is where Paramount Guides comes in. This is a private program set out to find the best snow and terrain for the group’s goals and abilities based on our expert analysis of the present conditions and terrain knowledge. We will also provide you instruction to improve your technique as well as refresh your knowledge on how to travel safely in various terrain scenarios.

Private Backcountry Ski Day

Cost:

  • 1 Participant $750.00 + GST

  • Each additional participant $90.00 + GST

Cost includes:

  • Professional ACMG Mountain Guide

Cost does not include:

  • Transportation

  • Food

  • Personal Back Country Equipment (Skis / Split Board / Boots / Poles etc.)

  • Mandatory Avalanche Safety Gear (If you would like to rent it from us the cost would be: Avalanche Beacon $10.00 / Avalanche Shovel $5.00 / Avalanche Probe $5.00)

Please keep in mind that prior to heading out for our backcountry ski program all participants are required to read and agree to waiver terms and conditions prior to booking completion. A copy of which can be found paramount-guides.com/waivers

This program takes place in a backcountry winter environment. Conditions can be harsh, and you need to be dressed appropriately. Being warm and comfortable will enhance your enjoyment.

Logistical details

  • Location: TBD Depending on your objectives and ideas, as well as on weather and avalanche conditions the exact location for each program is to be determined.

  • Transportation: Be prepared to drive to the trailhead.   

  • Food: Bring snacks and a lunch, plus 1 to 2 liters, of ideally hot drinks.

  • Clothing: You should come prepared for a full day in the outdoors.

Equipment List

  • You will need either Skis or Split board plus ski poles.

  • Day pack large enough to hold spare clothes, lunch, shovel, and probe.

  • Avalanche transceiver with batteries over 80%

  • Collapsible Avalanche shovel.

  • Avalanche probe.

  • Sunglasses and/or ski goggles.

  • Personal 1st-Aid Kit for small blister (our guide carries a 1st-Aid Kit for emergencies, plus a communication device).

  • Extra gloves

  • Warm clothing
